"DANK Art" - Definition: High Quality Art
A little about me:↓ Born in Myrtle Beach and moved to Pawleys Island when I was in the first grade. Graduated Waccamaw High School in June 2009. ALL PROCEEDS OF MY ART WORK WILL BE USED TOWARD OBTAINING MY COLLEGE DEGREE AND STARTING MY NEW COMPANY: "DANK ART" Enterprises. My GOALS include making my DREAMS a REALITY !! I would like to have many creations that will be used not only as "Wall Art" and "Surfing Art" etc... but would like to have my work "splattered" across the globe through licensing my designs to various companies to be used in the CLOTHING, MUSIC, and SPORTING industries just to name a few. I have to give a shout-out to my VERY FIRST INSPIRATIONAL ARTIST and (RELATIVE)... my Uncle- Tommy Davis of Myrtle Beach, SC. I painted my first canvas in my Uncle's art studio when I was 3 years old. He still has the oil painting today. Tommy's art work has sold to clients from all over the world. He is LIVING HIS DREAM !! He paints his many travels that have taken him on some incredible journeys. He is Co-Owner of Collector's Cafe and Art Gallery. His work can be seen throughout the restaurant/gallery. 7740 N. Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572 Check out some of his designs at: http://ThomasDavis.com Last year he held an artshow entitled: EMERGING ARTISTS and my work was exhibited along with 2 others who are considered: ARTISTS TO WATCH.
My custom artwork designs have been selling in local surf shops along the Grand Strand area since I was 13. Actually, the first piece I ever sold was in Collector's Cafe Art Gallery and Restaurant when I was 10. My work can be seen today in Village Surf Shoppe in Garden City, Surf the Earth surf shop in Pawleys Island, and Collector's Cafe in Myrtle Beach. Many people have helped me out along the way, including DREW BROPHY (family friend) who told me at age 11 to GO AND PAINT my first board. My very first surfboard I rode at age 4 was Drew's board. My Uncle Tommy and Drew were roommates in Myrtle Beach before Drew "Went and got All Famous"... I traveled to San Clemente at age 13 and Drew took me to one of his favorite surf spots at THE TRESTLES. He showed me his studio with all his creations and this was an INCREDIBLE INSPIRATION for me to GET BUSY. Other people who have helped in my career have been: "MOM" (of course) who is my marketing genius... or so she thinks. Scott Bentson of Surf The Earth surf shop - Scott promoted my first Surfboard Painting exhibit when I was 13 at his shop. Kelly Richards of Village Surf Shoppe who has always hooked me up with some of his great PERFECTION boards to paint and RIDE. Kelly's words in describing the very first board I painted: ''THAT DOG CAN HUNT" and told me I had a career !!
I paint on surfboards, skatedecks, canvas, glass, etc. and I look forward to meeting and working with you to discuss any custom designs that will suit your specific needs. Also please consider me if you need a mural done on your wall of your home or office.
PRICING: All depends on your budget. I have done jobs as low as $25 and thusfar as high as $750.00
